The dorm rooms are by far the worst part about this school and the administration not far behind. While the school is desperately begging the alumni for more money they are ignoring the students requests for basic needs. In Meta Glass (the newest dorm) there is a family of pidgins flying in and out of the building. Mice climb through the outdated moldy air vents; bats fly around students rooms; ants are in every dorm. Mold is present in every building expect Manson, the oldest. The food while appearing nice does not conform to the students needs. Cross contamination of gluten-free to gluten products is a normal thing. People are charged an extreme amount for the meal plan that very few actually use regularly. Students choose to starve over going to Prothro. The school claims to be very accommodating, while this is true for the classroom/teachers, it is not true for the housing. Students have been asked to give up accommodations for the incoming freshmen. Many of the buildings lack handicap accommodations. Almost everywhere involves stairs, with the elevators being out constantly. Students are requested to “get over” their need for singles, or other accommodations such as bathroom accessibility. Meal accommodations are also a true pain to get as everyone get the 19-meal plan with no other option. The teachers here are hit or miss. They are struggling to hire teachers to bring back the glory of the school. Many of the teachers are really amazing, especially in the science department. Since 2015 the school has fallen apart despite the desperate attempts by the alumni. The school is actively spending money in the wrong places. Building a new courtyard is not necessary when the buildings are below health code standards.
