Basic aspects of chemistry and physics related to management of a hazardous materials incident. Covers physical and chemical properties of matter, atomic structure, periodic table, metals and non-metals, salts, hydrocarbons and derivatives, forms of energy, the combustion process, flammable and combustible liquids.
