Earth Materials

Identifying rock-forming minerals based on their chemical, physical and optical properties; relating mineral identification to rock lithology and classification; interpreting the significance of a rocks mineral assemblage in terms of its igneous, metamorphic, sedimentary or hydrothermal origin. (1 hour discussion,2 hours activity, 6 hours laboratory, field trips.)
