Advanced Medical Surgical Nursing

Using the nursing process as a framework, this Vocational Nursing theory course reinforces the critical thinking skills necessary to care for adult and geriatric patients with acute and complex medical surgical disease states, including multi-system involvement. The care for the patient with increasingly complex mental health conditions will be explored. Role expectations related to being a member of the profession are also discussed. Knowledge of nursing principles and leadership/management techniques to determine and prioritize nursing actions will be correlated with the laboratory setting presented in VNRS 89L (Advanced Medical Surgical Nursing Lab).
