This course provides the participants with an introduction and basic overview of fire scene investigation. The focus of the course is to provide information on fire scene indicators and to determine the fire's origin. Arson investigators will successfully carry out their responsibilities in arson detection and explosives investigation. Emphasizes essential elements of fire and explosives behaviors, types and use of laboratory services, and investigative responsibilities of an investigator at location of arson and explosives incidents. Meets P.O.S.T. certification requirements. Offered as a State Fire Marshal CFSTES class.
