Overview of common manufacturing processing methods and equipment used in the food industry. Pre-and post-harvest processing of safe, high-quality food products. Applied food processing techniques emphasizing fermentation, dehydration, freezing, heating, pressing, raw material handling, bottling, and label requirements will be emphasized. This course is designed for students receiving their certificate of achievement and/or Associates of Science in Food Science and Technology. Field trips may be required. Field trips may be required.
