Water Resources Law and Policy

This course involves the study of water rights, and the policies and legal principles governing the management of water resources generally. Specific topics may vary. Topics may include riparian rights, prior appropriation systems, water use permitting systems and statutory codes, the management drainage and runoff, the law and practices of water institutions, interstate water disputes, watershed-based management, integration of water supply and water quality protections, and the control and distribution of clean drinking water supplies. May be offered as a seminar
