This course is designed to familiarize you with the anthropological literature on the origins, nature, and character of tourism. It will analyze the way cultural heritage sites become contested spaces, representative of memory, nationhood, history, and culture with particular emphasis on Jewish history and culture in Europe and African Americans in the U.S. (Social Sciences)
