Introduction to Caribbean Studies - D2, SB

This course provides a general overview and introduction to Caribbean Studies. It explores the historical, cultural, and sociological perspectives that shaped the Caribbean region, as well as the contemporary Caribbean. Areas of emphasis include history of the people, politics, language, and culture; race, ethnicity, and social class; domestic organizations-gender roles and family. The course also explores social issues affecting the United States and the Caribbean through community-based learning. (Social Sciences)
