Music History Review

The purpose of the course is to provide the student with a reasonable method of removing deficiencies revealed by the Graduate Entrance Examination. No graduate student will be allowed to enroll in any graduate course in a historical period in which he has failed to pass the corresponding section of the Graduate Entrance Examination until he has removed his deficiency in the history of the subject. Areas covered are: deficiencies within the period from the Middle Ages to 1530; deficiencies within the period between 1530 and 1750; deficiencies within the period between 1750 and 1850; and deficiencies within the period from 1850 to the present
