Jazz Arranging II

This course will focus on fundamental four-part writing techniques associated with the big band jazz ensemble. Idiomatic use of counterpoint and harmonic substitution will be given emphasis. The principal, mainstream big band and traditional styles and forms will be a substantial component of study
