An introduction to the applications of quantitative research methods to the analysis of criminal justice practices and data. Emphasis is placed on the calculation, application and interpretation of statistical measures generated by computer software such as SPSS. Topics included are: measures of central tendency and dispersion; theories of probability and the normal curve; and parametric and nonparametric significance tests used in criminal justice research
