PHYS 3070

Physical Cosmology

Designed for science and engineering maj, stud. in quantitative fields/ w req math skills interested in physical universe. Covers large-scale structure of universe &its evolution from birth well into future.Gravitational concepts, neutron stars, black holes, big bang univ, cosmological tests, dark matter& energy. Problem solving emphasized. Note: This course assumes that students have completed PHYS 2010 or PHYS 2311 prior to taking this course. Note: Routine knowledge of algebra, geometry and trigonometry is assumed. Knowledge of trig and calculus also useful.
