Rigid-Body Dynamics

Review of Newtonian dynamics, Lagranges equations for particles, systems, and rigid bodies. Conservative and non-conservative systems, moments of inertia, principal axes, angular momentum and Euler equations. Illustrations from spinning bodies, including tops, gyro-compass and rotating machinery. Cross-listed with MECH 5163.
