Theory of Numbers

Every other year. Topics include divisibility, prime numbers, congruences, number theoretic functions, quadratic reciprocity, and special diophantine equations, with applications in engineering. Note: This course assumes that students have the equivalent of an undergraduate-level course in mathematical proof (e.g. MATH 3000). Cross-listed with MATH 4110. Term offered: spring.
