Systems Analysis for Environment and Sustainability

Focuses on quantitative techniques for environment systems modeling, analysis and assessment. The course primarily covers life cycle assessment (LCA) techniques. The students will learn the various steps for conduction an LCA including goal and scope definition, life cycle inventory (LCI), life cycle impact assessment (LCIA) and interpretation. Mathematical techniques for uncertainty & sensitivity analysis, such as Monte Carlo simulations will be covered. Students will be exposed to several LCA case studies
