Gender and Communication

Examines gender as it is constructed, performed, evaluated, and negotiated through communication. Topics covered include the nature of gender, the gender binary, scientific research on gender, gender stories in popular culture, the process of crafting and performing gender stories, and responses to gender performances. Cross-listed with COMM 4265. Restriction: Restricted to Graduate and Graduate Non-Degree majors. Undergraduates with senior standing may enroll with permission of instructor.
