Honors Organic Chemistry II

Lecture course for science majors. A continuation of Chem 3481. An accelerated and in-depth approach to organic chemistry. Intended for chemistry majors and advanced pre-medical, predental, pre-pharmacy and other health related careers requiring a full year of organic chemistry. Instructor permission required. Topics covered include spectroscopy, aromaticity, reactions of alkynes, conjugated dienes, benzene, benzene derivatives, aldehydes, ketone, carboxylic acids, carboxylic acid derivatives, enols, enolates and amines, reaction mechanisms and syntheses
