CHEM 1494

Forensic Science

This one semester chemistry lecture and laboratory course is designed to engage a non-science major through the high-interest topic: criminal investigations. In this course, using the theme of forensic science students will be introduced to a basic understanding of chemistry, the physical and chemical properties of matter, simple types of chemical reactions and equations, and molecular structure of drugs and biomolecules. Note: Two years of high school science and one year of high school algebra are strongly recommended for optimal success. Students will not receive credit for this course if they have already received credit for CHEM 2031 and CHEM 2061.
