ANTH 5450

Development and Conservation: Contemporary Issues

Applies the theoretical paradigms of political ecology to contemporary issues of sustainable development. Case studies are chosen illustrating topics based on faculty expertise and student interaction. The first part of the course presents theoretical perspectives relevant to the chosen topic. In the second half, students participate in directed problem solving activities. Note: this course assumes that students have completed ANTH 4070 and 4170 or equivalent. Cross-listed with ANTH 4450.
