lecture The study of aging and the life course from childhood through early adulthood. Focus is on the major theories of aging over the life course. Specific attention is given to the social construction of age and aging, socialization over the life course, and the extent to which the life course is influenced by race, class, and gender. Also considered are life course perspectives of family, education, work, leisure, health, and/or deviance
