The principles of evidence-based practice and research methodologies that underpin patient and client care. These principles are also viewed through the prism of information literacy. Approaches to obtaining and validating information in the digital world are examined. The focus is upon students preparing to engage in evidence-based practice, providing the skills necessary to critically evaluate new information that is available from research findings and professional organizations and practice groups. The process of assessing and integrating new information into the individual practitioners approach to practice is emphasized
