MUFHL 320

Exploring Music

This course is an introduction to the basics of music reading and understanding. Students learn to read rhythms and pitches, to write and play scales and chords, and to analyze and write small song forms. Through analytical and creative assignments, students will also examine historical and cultural perspectives to gain an aesthetic appreciation of this art form. This course is recommended as a general humanities class to those students majoring in audio-engineering and to those music majors who have not had sufficient preparation for MUFHL 400.
