Health Education Patients and Family

This course is an introduction to the role of the health care professional as an educator of patients/clients and health care staff. Students will explore the major teaching and learning theories, and how they are ap- plied to health care practice. This course covers characteristics of the learner including determinants of learning, adult literacy, compliance and motivation, cultural influences, and learning styles. Techniques and strategies for teaching and learning are presented.
