History and Theory of the Theatre I
This course follows the development of the theatre arts from ancient Greece through the 19th Century. The history and evolution of theatre is studied in relationship to the socio-political and cultural conditions of the time. Plays will be read that exemplify major trends and prominent artists. A field trip to attend a live performance may be required. (C-ID THTR 113)
