This course is a continuation of MUFHL 410. It includes a more in-depth study of 16th and 18th century counterpoint, fugue, variation, altered chords, sonata allegro and rondo forms, and late 19th, 20th, and 21st century writing techniques including; 9th, 11th and 13th chords, altered dominants, chromatic harmony, serial music, current music idioms, and analysis techniques. This course also includes practice in rhythmic, melodic, and harmonic dictation, sight-singing and ear-training. MUFHL 411 is required for music majors. (C-ID MUS 150; C-ID MUS 155)
