Geologic Mining History of the Mother Lode

This is an introductory course covering the mining and geologic history of California's Mother Lode region. Course emphasis is on understanding the formation of the area's gold deposits, understanding past and present mining methods, and understanding the legacy left by the early miners. Field trips may be required.
