CHE 225

Organic Chemistry II

Organic Chemistry II is a continuation of CHE 215. Nomenclature, structure, properties, and spectroscopy of aromatics, ketones, aldehydes, carboxylic acids, esters, amides, anhydrides, and acid halides are covered and compared to biomolecules. Laboratory experiments illustrate course topics as well as introduce the student to the research, chemical literature, and report writing. There are three hours of lectures and one four-hour laboratory period each week. Spring
