ARB 425

An Overview of Practical Translation

This course is a practical application of the concepts, methods, theories, and approaches to translation introduced in ARB 420. The course is a combination of theory and practice of translating from Arabic to English and vice-versa. It is intensely practical, and incorporates projects, hands-on, and workshop design presentations. Students will explore translating a variety of topics such as literary, scientific, technical, medical, legal documents, historical documents, commercial advertisements, letters, and newspapers among other documents.
