Cultures of Africa

ANT 153 or equivalent or permission of the instructor. Must have at least sophomore standing to be eligible for this course. Designed for students who have taken one or more courses about Africa, this course offers in-depth research opportunities and mentoring on a wide variety of topics pertinent to anthropological understanding of the contemporary cultures of the African continent, including kinship, gender, adaptive strategies, health, the arts, urbanization, and globalization.
