Program Planning and Development

A study of the principles and techniques of recreation, sport, and health program development. The application of a program development model, which is used in the organization and planning of recreation programs, is emphasized. Students will design a program from the bottom up, including: needs assessment, mission and goals, staffing, risk management, promotion, and evaluation. This course is a requirement for Recreation, Sports Management, and Exercise Science majors and will be offered once each academic year
