Parties and Interest Groups

The course investigates the nature and importance of political parties and interest groups for American politics. Topics include party development, interest group mobilization, and party organization. In election years, students enrolled in the course are encouraged to participate in the political campaign of the party or candidate of their choice at the local, state or federal level.
