Period Styles of Dance

This is a beginning-level course in historic Western dances. Specific dances in their historical contexts will include: Renaissance Court Dances, 19th Century Waltz, Foxtrot and Swing progression. The instruction will focus primarily on dance for the theater. Students will perform dances learned in class for the final skill test. This course fulfills Physical Education and Recreation: Sport, Dance and Society Core
