An introduction to Christianity in its historical context from the late Middle Ages to the present, with special attention to developments in Europe and North America. The course focuses on the global expansion of Christianity during the last 700 years and on the question of how the churchs institutions, thought, and practice were shaped by and responded to their various contexts.
