Great Ideas, Great Texts

A two-semester course required for all residents of the Honors Living-Learning Community on the third floor of Van Reken Hall. The course involves weekly meetings to discuss assigned readings, hear guest lecturers, or watch films on a great idea in the fall and explore a great text in the spring. A different theme and book will be chosen each year for their interdisciplinary character, potential for exploring issues of diversity, and significance for a Christian liberal arts education. In their discussions, writing, and presentations the students will demonstrate their commitment to making their residence a community of learning and help to build a strong identity for the floor
