Argumentation and Advocacy

A study and application of basic principles of argumentation and advocacy. This course focuses on the dynamics of oral argument-ethical dimensions, use of language, informal logic, use of evidence and appeals, structure, and interactions with other arguments. Through analysis and practice, students will learn not only how to argue within academic contexts but also how to apply argumentative reasoning to everyday communication
