Laboratory in Biochemistry

A laboratory course designed to teach students modern biochemical separation and analytical techniques. Included in this course are the following topics: affinity, chromatography, agarose gel and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, polymerase chain reaction, ultraviolet/visible spectroscopy, enzyme kinetics, and recombinant DNA techniques. Students will be required to carry out individual projects involving the purification and analysis of a biological macromolecule from cells or tissue
