ARTE 315

Introduction to Elementary Art Education

This course is an introduction to the field of art education in general as well as art education methods specifically for the elementary school level. This course is designed to meet the needs of the Art Education student (K 12) and is pre-requisite to ARTE 316. It is also designed to meet the needs of the education student taking a fine arts group minor. This course includes lectures, studio experiences, and collaborative assignments as well as assignments to create art lesson plans, units and a personal philosophy of art education. Partnership opportunities to work with area school children through service learning hours are included
