Internship in Accounting

Off-campus accounting internships are available for qualified students. Internships may be either full-time or part-time. All interns will keep a reflective journal and submit periodic updates to the internship coordinator. Full-time interns will complete at least 350 hours of onsite experiential learning, as well as written assignments such as essays, integrative analyses, and a research paper on an approved accounting topic, receiving eight semester hours of credit. Part-time interns will complete at least 175 hours of on-site experiential learning as well as written assignments such as essays, an integrative analysis, and a research paper on an approved accounting topic, receiving four hours of credit. To be enrolled in an internship, the student must have junior or senior standing, must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better, and must receive approval from both the department and the organization offering the internship. This course is an elective in the B.S. in Accountancy and the B.S. in Public Accountancy programs
