Critical Reading as Critical Thinking

This course covers the theory and practice of advanced critical reading skills and strategies needed for college-level texts with emphasis on the following: critical and analytical evaluation of printed material, vocabulary development, proficient comprehension skills, development of efficient and flexible reading, and application in textbook and nonfiction reading. One or more additional hours per week in the Reading Lab may be recommended. (Competency: Reading)
