Activities for the School Age Child

This course focuses on design, implementation, and evaluation of developmentally appropriate activities for the school-age child (K8). Curriculum areas include games, construction, art, music and movement, science and nature, and drama. It explores other topics including cooperative program planning, environments, guidance techniques, and the importance of positive interpersonal relationships between the adults and the children in the program. This course may require students to conduct observations in a school-age classroom.
