NURS 490

Senior Nursing Practicum

This capstone course is designed to provide the baccalaureate nursing student with an experiential learning practicum in a healthcare setting. The practicum allows the student to integrate practice related knowledge and skills. Students will assimilate knowledge of nursing research and evidence-based practice, leadership and management, and nursing theories to develop and implement a project that is designed to improve client outcomes. The practicum will be designed in collaboration with a faculty member and carried out in an appropriate health care or community-based care setting. This course must be taken in the last term before graduation.
