Excellent school, great campus, almost sports school. Students are friendly and helpful. The clubs and activities are interesting and fun. There are many events happening on campus. The academics can be challenging depending on the prof and the class. The food is good but can be better. Overall, Stony is a second home.

The courses are hard so you learn a lot. Most of the professors are nice. The people here are very kind and communicative, and professors are very understanding and open. The campus is very pretty and social life is open to those who like to enjoy it (parties, etc.). However, the reason why I give this university 4 stars is because people are not very involved in clubs, and additionally some dormitories are not as nice as others. Additionally, there are not a large amount of opportunities for sports here and may be hard to meet new people. Professors give interesting classes, but some students enroll in classes only for credits because many are reserved for specific majors (ex: engineering).

Stony Brook University is definitely a school with opportunity. I'm grateful for the friends I've made here and all the wonderful experiences I've had. But, as a Political Science major, I'm very disappointed in my school's commitment to academic diversity. There's a very strong focus on STEM majors, and that's where all of the funding goes. The previous university president cut a lot of the Humanities programs. It's very difficult to complete a non-STEM degree at this school due to how few classes are still being offered for non-STEM majors.

Stony Brook University was a great opportunity for my academic future. People is very welcoming, it's my first year attending her as an international student and it has been very challenging too. Classes are difficult but professors do everything to make classes easy to understand and to explain everything. There is a lot of workload in almost every class. There is a lot of parties too but if you wanna get a good GPA I recommend you to focus on studying in most of the time, and just got to them when you have free time. Food is not the best, but we have variety, and people is really nice and will help you as much as they can.

Stony Brook is an amazing school for academics. The campus is absolutely beautiful, people there are so friendly, and they have good academic programs. I always feel like I'm expanding my knowledge. The party scene is lacking, but theres always stuff to do on campus, so finding a way to make friends/socialize is easy.

I love the community at Stony Brook university. There are a lot of different places you can go to, to just chill and relax. There are also a lot of places to study. I enjoy going to club events around campus. However, I would like to change the food on campus, especially the dining halls.

My experience at Stony Brook has been great. It is also one of the most diverse schools in the nation, so anyone from any race, religion or sexual orientation will feel comfortable here. There is an emphasis on the sciences, but humanities programs here are still top notch. Socially, the school doesnt have the best reputation, though you will find friends I promise!
