Multisystem Engagement and Family Counseling

This course investigates ways to conceptualize a macro-systemic approach to assessment and intervention with families. The course examines multiple embedded systems, and the larger societal discourse surrounding multi-helper situations. The course increases the family therapists ability to navigate public sector systems such as schools, courts, and social welfare agencies. Students also explore the system of the professional helper and examine the position of the family therapist in the mental health field
