EEC 341

Solid-State Electronic Devices and Applications

This course covers the fundamental concepts and operational principles of semiconductor devices and their applications. The course content includes semiconductor materials, carriers in semiconductors, energy bands, Fermi-Dirac distribution, p-n junctions, metal-semiconductor junction, field-effect transistors, bipolar junction transistors, high-speed transistors, solar cells, detectors and sensors as well as their applications, especially in space. The degradation and protection of semiconductor devices in space are introduced. Lab activities are embedded in the course
