EDMG 332

Teaching Reading in the Middle Grades Content Areas

Admission to TEP is required. (Orientation/exploration, preparation level industrial education and vocational family and consumer science students are exempt from prerequisites not required in their program. EDMG 330 is a prerequisite for all students.) An explanation and evaluation of materials and methods of teaching the advanced reading skills in grades 5-9. The students are taught how to teach the skills needed for comprehension, study skills and content area reading. Assessment and interpretation of reading abilities will be utilized to design classroom instruction. Completion of the required field experience is an integral part of this course
