Criminogenic Family

The course focuses on family risk factors for later delinquency and criminal behavior as well as preventative intervention and treatment. This course examines a variety of family issues including child maltreatment, domestic violence, family alcoholism, drug addiction, family chaos, inadequate or neglectful parenting, corporal punishment, which are known risk factors for later criminal behavior. Students gain a general understanding of the macro-level processes that have detrimental effects on family functioning and family structure. Equates with GST 302 and SWK 300
