History and Theology of Modern Israel
An examination of the history of modern Israel and the ensuing Arab-Israeli conflict. Theological issues that will be addressed include biblical covenants, God's faithfulness to Israel, the issue of supersessionism, the nature of land in God's promises in both Testaments, prophecy and biblical ethics, morality and justice. It will also examine a biblical approach to the understanding of Israel and the Arabs in the Middle East.
