Teaching and Ministry Skills for Childrenand Family Ministry

This course begins with a brief overview of different children’s ministry models and an investigation of teaching methods from a theologically informed Christian worldview. Relevant ministry topics such as worship, Bible study, and faith development for the child and family will be discussed. Teaching paradigms and skills with creative elements such as object lessons, drama, storytelling, and technology will be investigated, modeled, and then practiced by students. Ministry skills needed to lead and ensure a safe, effective ministry to children will be taught. Field experience, ministry observations, and guest speakers are a part of this course’s hands-on learning.Course fee required. Course offered every spring semester.Course fee required.
