PSY 353

Health Psychology

Closed to freshmen and non-degree students. The impact of behavior, cognition, and affect on biological function and dysfunction is examined from theoretical and empirical perspectives. Stress and coping styles, behavioral medicine (such as compliance, pain management, behavioral factors in acute and chronic illness), lifestyle choices, and habit control are among the topics considered in relation to the prevention and treatment of disease.
